Safetech Fence
Protect the work zone. Keep the trains running.
Safetech Fence is a patented barrier that separates a work zone from an open adjacent line. Each post clamps to the rail, so a small crew puts up 100 m in under 10 minutes, with no digging and no heavy plant. Made by Rail Safety Constructions in the Netherlands and supplied in Australia by Melvelle.
100 m
In under 10 minutes
Posts and barriers are carried in by hand and clamped on. They come down just as fast at the end of the shift.
No digging
Clamped to the rail
No excavation and no disturbed ballast, so the track stays as it was and the crew breathes less dust.
1.95–2.55 m
From track centre
Seven offset settings in 100 mm steps put the barrier where the job needs it.
