Melvelle Engineering’s track pack is a basic spike driver with anti-vibration handles and incorporates any combination of a spike driver (SD67), spike puller (8T - 8000 kg kg pull), a sleeper drill (RD121 or RD193), RWS2000 shears or hydraulic rail drill (SRD119). Our latest track pack features a quick tool coupling to the counter balance beam and quick connect hydraulic hose couplings. Optional items are a light tool tray on the rail trolley, multi gauge trolleys and engine lighting coil to run a 35 watt quartz halogen work light for night operations. Our driving system relieves the operator from carrying the spike driver load, it is counterbalanced to around 6 kg weight at the handles, and will angle tilt side to side. We use a 32 kg size hydraulic driver with a our standard steel (others use a cast iron) location "nozzle" to locate over the spikes. The are fitted as standard with Anti-Vibration handles to reduce the driver vibration.

Our trackpack system incorporates the ability to attract a number of heads to do a number of track operations. By using the one trolley and mounted power pack, a driving head (shown) or spike pulling or sleeper drill or steel sleeper clipping or fast clipping heads can be quickly coupled with the quick hitch coupling system.

The RD121 or RD193 timber hand drill is the only drill that has an instant deadman no matter what hole size it is drilling. The standard controls are deadman neutral, reverse and forward rotation at the squeeze of the trigger enableing very controllable drilling. RD 121 or RD193 Hand Drills

Increased versatility of the Trackpack is by adding our TP155 hydraulic powered sleeper drill (Photo right). It is similar to our balanced beam woodborer BBW140 except the head is hydraulically powered. A maximum feed stroke of 230 mm travel drill tilt alignment is easily achieved by a ball clamp. Furthermore this drill head can operate from any of our spike puller and existing trackpacks each drill is fitted with a quick stop valve. Power is supplied by a single power pack with a patented hydraulic oil cooling system using the engine fan suction to draw air across the heat exchanger.
