RAIL WELD SHEARS

Melvelle Equipment Rail Weld Shears come in a variety of models, including models for tram and crane rail (Model 172-DS). Each can be powered by a hand pump mounted on the shears or by a petrol or diesel power pack (see HC115 models on power pack page). The shearing force is centred to equalise the lifting and diving in forces on the blades which ensures an inherently stable and flat cut surface on the rail head.

and 10000 psi for rail tensors. Our range of shears are able to shear hot rail welds from 62.5mm (on request) to 150 mm rail heads. All the common sizes Standard rail, Tram Rail and Crane Rails. Other sizes may be able to be accommodated.
