147 Series winches are direct drive hydrostatic braked winches which may have fail-safe brakes fitted if required. They are suitable for use in small drilling rigs, for drill rods and other winching applications. Drum size is 100mm and the weight noted below for the winch is approximate only and does not include the weight of any wire. Other drum sizes are available as well as two speed winches.

Rope Reever
Some power cable tensioning bull wheels do not provide a means to control the layers of takeup rope during pre-tensioning of the transmission power wires. We have made these rope reeving machines so that the operator can move the fairlead rollers across to ensure better layering of the rope. It is also safer not to have an operator manually using a hook device to pull the rope to help the layering which is what we have seen happen in the field. We can install and set up the operator console so that the sense of direction on the hydraulic valve handle is the same as the direction the reever is required to move. It also means that the reeving control is from the safety of the enclosed operator control console.
Cable Drum Rotator
Our cable drum rotator is compact and amazingly powerful. Although the rotator fits underneath the cable drums from 1 to 1.8 metre diameter, the wear resisting lagged urethane roller self adjusts for the load generated by the cable. A unique and simple system places the raise and lowering cylinder in the same hydraulic circuit as the drive roller. This results in increasing gripping forces as the load increases on the roller.
We have for many years specialised in the manufacture of light weight and high powered products. Although we have seen others produce cable drum rotators of the same capacity, they have used 14 hp engines and yet still only achieve the same speed and power as ours. This is an “over kill”. The engine is far too large for the job. We use a 5hp Honda or Briggs & Stratton engine in a small sized roll bar (460 mm x 460 mm x 465 mm, weight 35 kg).
