Vibracore

High performance Hydraulic Vibracore, vacuum pump and drilling rig and/or independent power pack. Model HV152. Also shown VC166 smaller vibracore.

A Vibracore is a device whereby good sampling can be achieved in water, swampy and tidal areas. The retention of the sample is carried out with a very unique core catcher together with vacuum retention applied to the sample tube.

Our system is unique in that all of the drives are hydraulic, resulting in a light functional sampling system with the advantages of variable vacuum and vibrations. This ensures that harmonics in the sampling tube can be controlled. The counter weights are synchronised by a series of hosing of the hydraulic motor. The Vibracore is sealed so that it can be used under water in shallow areas. Depth limitation is subject to design check. Vibration speed approx. 0-1500 vpm.

The diaphragm vacuum pump is able to achieve up to 80% vacuum, whilst the energy supplied from the Vibracore is sufficient to drive a 76mm aluminium tube to 6 metres. Single pass sampling is best maintained fluid void around the sampling tube. Timber, stones and rocks etc. will cause substantial degradation of the ability to penetrate the required sampling material.

Our concrete vibracore model VC166 (shown right) is only 24.7kg, 622 x 200x 100mm and control valve 8.1kg (plus hoses) dimensions. Vibrations to 12000vpm (also needs a jolt to start).

The power source may be from the drilling itself or from one of our many light power packs with petrol or diesel engine choices (an example is shown below).

A rig fitted with a light winch and head pulling jaws (shown below). A side shift or side opening head and tapered sliding jaw assembly provides a high speed positive and concentric gripping, infinitely variable lifting and high power tube retrieval system.

The auger drive, is top drive with torque and speeds infinitely variable within the constraints of the design and choice options. An optional universal drive coupling aids in the handling of any augers.
