Hydraulic Concrete Diamond Drill or Timber Drill – Model TWB126

This drill has the capabilities to run to 1500rpm, or 900rpm with either of the two drill motors, and is capable of drilling up to 100mm cores. The machine shown right is the 1500rpm model with a guide to suit a 20mm dia thin wall bit. The whole weight of the drill is only 24kg, and dimensions of 915mm long x 285mm over the guide x 275mm across the head and valve trigger. The 275mm dimaension can be reduced if required as well as the other dimensions varied to suit particular requirements.

Other concrete thin wall bit drill heads capable of drilling to 600mm dia can be fitted to the rack and pinion stand. All of the drills fitted have an inbuilt water swivel for feeding water into the drill bit. Or in the case of timber drilling, jacobs keyed or keyless chucks are fitted. The drill has its own control valve built into the body of the drill.

Among the accessories is a vacuum stand and hydraulically driven vacuum pump which will allow the drill mast to be mounted onto concrete surfaces. All powered off the one powerpack.

Core Drill TWB126 Build BO

This drill is designed to core into concrete, the advantage being that the mast, which the carriage is mounted on, can swivel left and right, backward and forward creating flexibility with the drilling. Mounted on the carriage is a Milwaukee Drill (600rpm/1200rpm) clutch protected with inbuilt water swivel, diamond bit capacity of 3\4″ to 7″ diameter and 20amps, 2300 watts, 230V.

Optional hydraulic head is available for larger holes and infinitely variable speeds. Bits to 600 dia. electric, diesel and petrol power packs available to 18hp, power packs weights to 110kg (HC10 diesel).

The machine shown right in the photo was specifically designed for use on rail tracks for drilling into concrete sleepers. A different frame may be required and is available for applications other than this.

Drill Stand DS126

The drill stand is an accurate method of drilling into the roof of a rail tunnel and has jig plates for catenary cabling bracket hole drilling. It has brackets of standard size and various drilling patterns and repeatability of a scissor lift platform.

A Bosch hammer drill mounted into a compound rack and pinion system. The angle of the foot can vary up to about 30 degrees and yet keep the jig plate square to drill holes despite the possibility of the platform lowering during drilling. It can also rotated 360 degrees for jig hole positions.

The fitted ball foot and very strong springs take advantage of the scissor lift’s raise and lowering ability to hold the jigs. Amount of spring movement on base is 96 mm. Top Plate is square with column but is able to rotate. And the bottom foot has compression spring attached to the column.

Standard templates are 510 mm x 300 mm, 25mm thick aluminium plate (templates can vary) with hardened guides. The guide bosses formed the hardened surface which rested against the tunnel roof. The template also has centre lines were marked for alignment purposes.
